Join us for the Vail Athletic Club's signature gym program: functional training. Functional training is athletic movement thru different planes, on varied surfaces, to train all people for life and for the sports they enjoy. It is moving athletically and intensely, utilizing body weight exercises like pushups, pull-ups, and lunges, challenging balance by using unstable surfaces, and incorporating the fun toys we have at our disposal: plyo boxes, kettlebells, stretch cords, hurdles, plyo ladders, cones, Olympic bars, and more. Join us in class or for a private or partner training session. Functional training is fast-paced, ever-changing, addictive, and completely adaptable to all ages and abilities . . . join us!

For functional training, Pilates, yoga, and climbing, we provide the highest level of expertise and professionalism in our training sessions, whether working privately or as a group. Our greatest goal is to help you achieve results and we are confident you will see gains in your fitness and progress toward your goals. If interested in multiple sessions, we invite you to join the VAC as a “Private Training” or “Vitality” member, both of which include four monthly private training sessions.

Functional Training with Intervals
Class is simply an intensive, all-inclusive workout in our functional gym. Expect to perform short bursts of cardio work on a treadmill, bike, or elliptical machine interspersed with dynamic, full-body strength work utilizing body weight exercises and functional tools. Frequently team-oriented, Functional Training with Intervals is high-energy, fun, and always challenging. Couple it with our Monday clinics for a great gym routine throughout the week.
Track Workout
Meet the group at Old Battle Mountain High School track (in Eagle-Vail) for a great workout! Whether training for distance or sprints, the track is an invaluable tool for interval work, plyometrics, gait analysis, and field tests. All levels are welcome. Complimentary for both members and guests, so please bring your friends! Group will run rain or shine.
Generation Functional Training
Generation Fitness is a fitness class designed exclusively for older adults! This is a very low impact class that is designed to increase strength, range of movement, agility, balance, and coordination. As a group, participants will improve functional capacities, physical fitness level, and sense of well-being.
Outdoor Interval Workout
Once the secret of the world’s best runners, interval training (short bursts of intense work) has gained a lot of buzz in the fitness world. Join us outdoors on the forgiving dirt or packed snow surface for a guided interval session, one of the most efficient ways to burn visceral (belly) fat. This workout is welcoming to all levels, and is as inspiring in its outdoor environment as it is effective in its fitness-building. Heart rate monitors and outdoor clothing recommended.
Outdoor Endurance Workout
Join this all-levels class for coaching through a 45 – 60 minute endurance workout. We will focus on raising our heart rates and keeping them consistently at a moderate – strenuous level throughout the session. Focus is on mental toughness and positive self-talk as you move through your workout. Held outdoors on the trails and dirt roads of Vail Mountain, this is the most beautiful way to achieve your necessary cardio endurance high!
